What do you expect for a site that is half built?

I love building hand coded web sites. My personal web sites are always a work in progress. I build sites at my job and for an occasional client using several web technologies and content management systems, but I like to build my own site the old fashion way, by hand.

Oh don't believe for a moment that I use Note Pad or VI like I did years ago when I first started learning HTML in the 1990s. I do use Dreamweaver and Visual Studio 2008 to code pages because I do not type fast.

Designing a web page now days is still a challenge. The standard of CSS2 is still not supported in all browser equally. I use to just worry about Internet Explorer and Netscape. Now I have to look at IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Currently I am testing this page in IE and Firefox. I like Chrome, but if this page does not work in it I am not bothering to fix it.

30 year old sketch comes to life

Starting with a pen and ink sketch that I drew over 30 years ago I created my latest pencil drawing. I will look for the pen and ink sketch and place it online soon. You can view more of my work at the LauniArt Gallery.

I have put a thumbnail of the drawing on the right side of this page. I am really inspired by the drawing. I use to do a lot of quick portrait sketches from live people. Now I do not have the talent or speed to do it. I was glad that I ahd the pen sketch to inspire me to draw this current picture.

I started calling this drawing The woman with a scarf, but I may change the title. I was always curious as to where this drawing came from in my imagination. It almost looks like the woman is from the middle east. Since I will complete this drawing during the Christmas Holiday I may call it The virgin with a scarf

Online store

I deleted the store

Yeah, every once in a while I do a bone head thing. I was moving files around on my web site and I deleted my store. I was not finished building it and it never sold anything, but still I wanted to keep it. Oh well I will re-build it soon.
